Built in the Victorian period in the Renaissance Revival style
Notable featuresA three storey bluestone warehouse. Architecturally it is a typical example of the conservative Classsical style. The shouldered voussoirs over the surving intact ground floor windows are an uncommon motif. The building enhances the neighbouring Customs House and is an integral part of the low streetscape which extends along Flinders Street. HistoryBuilt for R Goldsborough, one of the founders of the worlds greatest wool broking firm, Goldsborough, Mort and Company. The building was Goldsboroughs first headquarters and his firm occupied these premises until 1864 when they moved to Bourke Street. Architect: John Gill
